Friday nights generally involve big plans, even more so today that it's Valentine's Day. To spare you from unnecessary hassle on your way out, especially if you tend to run late for events, here's one road to avoid for a smoother sailing evening.

Between the hours of 8pm tonight and 8am tomorrow morning, the southbound carriageway of San Gorg Preca Road will be closed. To help you visualise it, it's the road connecting Floriana to Dicembru 13 Road, Marsa. 

This road closure is due to the assembly of a 105-metre deck for a new Blata l-Bajda pedestrian and cycling bridge connecting Hamrun to Spencer Hill as well as the Menqa areas in Floriana and Marsa. 

If you have no time to find an alternate route, or are reading this too late, don't stress, as diversion signs through Spencer Hill and Timber Wharf will be placed.
