Go Beerdie! Shearwater bird saved from Comino released back into wild
Good news on a Wednesday morning.

A shearwater bird that was saved from Mark Galea Pace of ‘Coast is Clear Malta’ has been released back into the wild after making a full recovery.

Beerdie, as it was named, was saved from Comino after Mark noticed him struggling in the water and soon realised that it was suffering from a broken leg and was extremely dehydrated.

“This poor baby was super exhausted and being run over by many boats exiting Blue Lagoon”, he wrote.

The bird was taken to BirdLife Malta where he was cared with love from Alice and Sleow.

Beerdie was released near Filfla where he can now join his flock once again, fully recovered.

Well done on saving the poor bird!
