Did you feel that?! An earthquake rocked parts of the Maltese Islands and locals were shook
Woah…

Jillian Mallia

Late last night, something a little alien to our island occurred in quite full force: an earthquake. Uxe! Mela! Various locals took to Facebook to share that they felt the tremor in various areas in Northern Malta.

The Seismic Monitoring and Research Group SMRG – University of Malta reported that “a magnitude 3.7 earthquake has occurred near Gozo today at around 10.24pm local time. It was felt clearly in Gozo and northern Malta.”

Locals taking to Facebook said they felt it in places like Sannat, Ghajnsielem, Gharb, Nadur and Munxar, but others have said that they felt it in Mellieha, Kappara and even Gzira.

Did you feel the earthquake? If you have, the University’s Monitoring Group is asking people to fill out this questionnaire to help their ongoing research. We're shook!
