British YouTubers try out Maltese snacks and treats & their reaction is ON POINT!
“Deeeelicious!”

Let’s get one thing out of the way: Maltese snacks and treats are to die for and nothing beats them. Yes? Yes. Ok, moving on. British Youtubers Alex and Kate shared their reaction to taste testing some of Malta and Gozo’s famous snacks and treats on their YouTube channel after a Maltese fan sent over a box of goodies for them to try. #QwijnInt

Alex shares that he has actually visited our islands saying it was “very nice. It was very different than I thought it was gonna be.” The fan who sent over the box also added a list of the items and what they’re used for.

The first item on their list is Sunshine Snacks’ salt and vinegar Krips packet (YAS). “Hopefully there’s no bloods – don’t want to get into a gang war over Krips,” Alex notes. Little does he know that we had a full blown battle of the snack packs here in Malta. They also tried out Party Bunch and Sour Cream & Onion – iconic packs on the islands.

They also noted something interesting: the writing on our crisps packets are in English, but the more traditional ones are written in Maltese. “They’ve got like a nice light dusting,” Kate notices as they dig into a bag of the popular Twistees brand. “Deeeelicious!” They both rated Twistees a 10. “They’ve been around for 50 years, those,” Alex said. Yup, and they’re darn good too.

Next up is flavoured galletti: one packet of sundried tomato and basil (red packet of the Tal-Furnar brand) and the gbejniet tal-bzar (purple packet). Their pronounciation of gbejniet had us giggling. Alex then excuses himself and goes off to get a tub of hummus. “I don’t know if hummus is big in Malta, but we think this will go well.” Great choice!

They also tried out Hollywood style White Cheddar popcorn, caramel popcorn, some Santa Lucia biscotti treats, a mini figolla, and a mini kwarezimal. And judging by their reactions, it’s safe to say they loved the stuff!
