Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo has shared that an announcement regarding whether or not bars will be reopening come Monday, “by the end of the week.”

In comments to Times of Malta the minister just said that an announcement will be made later this week, giving no further details. He did however say that the government will continue to give financial aid to such establishments.

Bars, clubs and kazini closed their doors in October and their reopening date has been pushed several times as Malta keeps experiencing high numbers of COVID-19. They were initially meant to reopen on 1st December but the notice has been extended every month. The current notice expires on Monday 1st March.
