Wednesday, 16 May from 8pm – 10:30pm: Igudesman & Joo - A Little Nightmare Music – Pjazza Teatru Rjal, Valletta

Pjazza Teatru Rjal - duo Igudesman & Joo

This comedic theatrical show, by duo Igudesman & Joo, is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Zany humour, rousing music and lots of laughs are guaranteed in this performance which features an eclectic range of music, from Mozart and Pachelbel's Canon to I Will Survive and songs from the Beatles. It has the thumbs up from stars of the small and big screen, with Terry Jones (director, Monty Python) describing it as “very musical, very engaging and very funny” and THE Sir Roger Moore referring to the duo as a dream! Tickets range from 10 euros and there are family tickets available at 20 euros. 

Wednesday, 16 May – Sunday, 20 May from 8pm – 11pm: The Crucible – Teatru Manoel, Valletta

Teatru Manoel

Arthur Miller’s timeless classic The Crucible is coming to Teatru Manoel in Valletta this week – with performances continuing through the weekend. A staggering 25 strong cast, including some of Malta’s best-known theatre actors such as Marylu Coppini, Colin Fitz, Isabel Warrington, Nanette Brimmer and Thomas Camilleri, will tread the boards at Malta’s national theatre in this fictionalized account of the Salem witch trials that took place in the Massachusetts Bay Colony during 1692 and 1693. Thursday, 17 May from 5pm – 7:45pm: Points of Contact, a Storytelling Workshop for Adults - Victor Pasmore Gallery, Valletta

What

Fancy yourself a scribe? Well, this week you get the chance to flex your writing skills with this storytelling workshop for adults at the Victor Pasmore Gallery in Valletta. The focus is on traditional folk and fairy tales. This workshop encourages participants to make their voices heard and craft their own stories. It combines storytelling practice with public speaking and communication skills, empowering those who participate to speak more confidently. To book please email [email protected]. Solar Cinema

Tomorrow, you have the choice of two events designed to showcase the drama and thrills of stories on screen. The earlier set of screenings, taking place at Spazju Kreattiv and focusing on European work, aims to highlight the empowering nature of the European project, with short films hailing from Germany, Hungary and Poland. Entrance is fee and refreshments will be served. And, if you're lucky, you might even make it to the second event right after: Solar Cinema is screening a short film programme in Zebbug. The films focus on creative environmental ideas to inspire everyone to recycle, recover and reuse.

Solo Vinyl

Tattoo artist Rino Valante is exhibiting a new selection of his work at SOLO Vinyl in Msida. An Italian native, Valante discovered leather tooling, a technique of engraving leather (used by American cowboys to decorate their saddles), and combines it with tattoo iconography in a unique blend of the past and present. The exhibition runs until the 9 June.

Have you ever wanted to know what Brazilian Zouk is? We have! Now, Dance College Studios in Msida is offering up classes in the genre for beginners. Otherwise known as the zouk lambada, this sensual dance will have you and your partner getting closer…and closer…Book your spot, though, to avoid disappointment.
