Transport Malta have recently revealed shots of the newly renovated Tal-Qroqq subway area (more commonly known as Skatepark). The area, they said, “has been renovated with new paint, plastering, handrails and lights.”

While many welcomed the restoration, other issues were also raised, namely flooding. When it rains, Malta basically and this subway is one of those places, with one Facebook user commenting that pedestrians would need a “rubber dinghy to pass.”

Others also lamenting the decision to paint over the graffiti, which was a prominent feature of the subway itself. “I kinda liked the graffiti. I think they should be allowed,” said one Facebook user, with other people alluding to the fact that the graffiti is the least of the subway’s problems, harping on about the flooding issue, instalment of CCTV cameras, and the overall uncleanliness in the area.
