What a beauty! Farsons unveils incredible restoration of 1960s Scammel truck
They were a common sight, supplying Valletta’s bars and dance halls, back in the day.

For those of us who were around in the 1960s, Farson’s Scammell Scarab trucks will have been a common sight on Malta’s roads. Acquired by the company in 1965, they were perfect for Malta's winding streets, and would zip around Valletta’s bars and dance halls with much needed reinforcements!

According to a recent post by Farsons, the Scammel would become “an iconic symbol of innovation” for the company, and many were sad to see the end of them.

But while you won’t be spotting any of these dinky trucks supplying local bars today, it seems it’s really not the last we’ve seen of them!

“With a lot of careful planning, Cucciardi restoration work have managed to restore and breathe life back into the cabin-engine front of one of the original trucks from the 60s,” Farsons have revealed on social media.

And judging by the photos, it’s a thing of beauty! Still, they’re being very tight-lipped about how the restored Scammel will be used, teasing “as for why this restoration was done, and how you'll be able to experience it in person, you'll have to stay tuned!”

We’re certainly keeping an eye out for this one!
