Maltese Top Fuel Drag Racing Driver, Duncan Micallef, known for his incredible, record-breaking performances throughout the FIA European Drag Racing Championship, came close to winning the title at the final round held at Santa Pod Raceway from the 5th to the 8th of September, finishing in the prestigious second place.

Duncan Micallef had entered the Euro Finals with a strong lead after a stellar season, setting a personal best time of 3.79 seconds and breaking the European speed record with a blistering 321.4 MPH. However, despite his dominant form, he fell just 4 points shy of clinching the championship, losing out to Switzerland’s Jndia Erbacher.

The narrow margin of defeat highlights the intense competition and razor-thin differences that can determine a racing season’s outcome.

Beyond his own achievements, Duncan’s son, Jacob, also made his mark by competing in the Euro Series 2024 at PF International Karting Circuit, showcasing the family's continued influence in the motorsport world.

Well done, Duncan! You made Malta proud!
