It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Valletta! Republic Street and adjacent side streets have been decorated with stunning lights to usher in the Christmas season. Every year something fantastic is set up, but this year it’s bigger and better.
Closing off a very successful year as Europe’s Capital of Culture, Valletta was decorated with spectacular lights. This year’s installation, located in front of the law courts, is a rather opulent structure featuring four towers and a massive floral ornament.
Yesterday, the lights were unveiled by Justice Minister Owen Bonnici, together with Parliamentary Secretary for Valletta 2018 Deo Debattista and Valletta 2018 Chairman Jason Micallef.
Lights featured on other side streets in Valletta are simpler but just as pretty, adorned with the usual Christmas ornaments as well as mimicking snow, since Maltese crave the winter wonderland experience!
