WATCH: Explore the beautiful Laferla’s cross and Annunciation Chapel within the limits of Siggiewi
An ideal viewpoint for some stunning views of Malta.

In his latest video, local explorer and vlogger, Angelo Caruana took his followers along as he explored the magnificent Laferla’s cross within the limits of Siggiewi.

As he made his way through the pedestrian path leading up to the cross, Angelo unfortunately came across multiple collapsed rubble walls which probably are a result of last month’s huge storm.

After a short but steep walk, Angelo found himself standing next to the enormous cross. The cross is in fact tied down to the ground to protect it from the strong and high winds.

It was originally made in 1903, around a 120 years ago but it was then replaced with a replica in 1963.

The cross is largely known for being lit up with hundreds of candles and lights every year during Maundy Tuesday and Good Friday.

Additionally, the area sports some incredible views of Malta’s stunning green and blooming fields.

Right underneath the huge cross, there’s also a little room with a shrine inside where people can pray.

A chapel dedicated to the Annunciation is found adjacent to the cross but unfortunately the chapel is a very bad state. It might however soon be restored. Fingers crossed!

While it may look insignificant, it has a very interesting narrative.
