Turn up the volume! Malta’s rock scene set to come alive with 63 live events in 2026
€1 Million investment to fuel 63 rock music events across Malta.
The announcement was made in a conference by Minister for Culture, Lands and Local Government, who said the fund will benefit approximately 1,800 local artists across the country. The initiative reflects a continued commitment to strengthening Malta’s rock music sector and supporting homegrown talent.
Managed by Festivals Malta, Rock’n Malta provides financial and advisory assistance to event organisers, promoters, bands and artists. The scheme aims to help raise production standards and encourage the continued growth of rock music-related activities nationwide.
This is a strong vote of confidence in Maltese musicians. The scale of the initiative, both in terms of funding and the number of artists involved, is set to translate into more creative opportunities and a richer cultural offering, particularly within a genre that resonates deeply with Maltese and Gozitan audiences.
The scheme continues to attract a high number of applications each year, highlighting its relevance and value within the local music industry. Rock’n Malta has become an essential tool for enabling organisers and artists to deliver concerts of a high standard.
While Rock’n Malta is not an event in itself, it allows the agency, Festivals Malta, to play a key role in supporting a wide range of rock concerts throughout the year. This includes not only financial backing but also professional guidance.
All Rock’n Malta-supported events will take place between January and December 2026.
