Travelling to Malta? Heathrow closure causes major flight disruptions
No flights will be departing from the UK's major airport today

Francesca Vella

Passengers scheduled to travel from London Heathrow Airport to Malta today, March 21st, are being urged to avoid the airport as it is currently closed due to a major power outage.

The High Commission of Malta in the United Kingdom has issued a warning advising travellers not to make their way to Heathrow, which will remain shut until 11:59 PM tonight. The disruption was caused by a fire at the electrical substation supplying the airport, leading to a significant loss of power.

Travellers affected by the closure are advised to contact their airline for further updates and alternative travel arrangements.
