Tourism minister reveals re-opening date of Malta airport will be announced soon!
The Prime Minister is expected to make the announcement in the coming days.
The ban on commercial flights may be lifted sooner than we think!
During a television interview yesterday, Tourism Minister Julia Farrugia Portelli revealed that Prime Minister Robert Abela will announce when the airport will be reopening in the coming days.
The ban that is currently in place is effective until 15th June, but online reports that circulated this week speculated that Malta International Airport may start operating again by 15th July.
In an appearance on TV programme Xtra, Julia Farrugia Portelli said Government always had a target date in mind, and Malta will likely have a summer that is safer than what we’ve become used to.
"There are protocols in place for restaurants, pools and beaches. On an international level we are discussing protocols for airports and travelling.”
