Throwback alert! Can you imagine a time when St Julian’s wasn’t packed with bars and clubs?
Nowadays, it is hard to believe that there was a time before St Julian’s was packed with bars and restaurants, luxury hotels, and even the odd skyscraper or two, but everything’s got its beginnings, right? The image is said to date back to 1910 – that’s over a century ago! It details the magnificent Dragonara Palace, which is located on ‘Tad-Dragun’ promontory, and its rustic surroundings.
The difference between then and now? There are no other buildings in sight! The Palace, which has been on site since 1870, was surrounded only by its stunning veranda, picturesque walls, and fields of vegetation.
Flashforward 100 years, the summer home turned Casino now faces a densely built up area that makes up the famous Paceville location, known by most for its busy nightlife and popular clubs.
Do you remember how it used to be?
