Who is Winston Azzopardi?

Winston Azzopardi is a Maltese film director and producer and is considered to be one of the best in the industry. Azzopardi has been actively involved in film productions since the shooting of Midnight Express back in 1977, and was also responsible for setting up the Film Commission, becoming Malta’s first ever film commissioner.

So, what's The Boat all about?

A lone fisherman lost in the deep mist boards an abandoned sailboat. Finding no signs of life, he emerges back on deck only to discover that his own boat has disappeared into the heavy mist. What follows is a nightmarish journey in which he becomes imprisoned inside, as the boat presses on into unknown waters. Joe Azzopardi (who is none other than Winston’s son) portrays his role beautifully. Get ready for terror on the open seas!
