As we approach the festive season, Malta Public Transport has announced several service changes to allow employees time to enjoy the holidays with their families and friends:

  • On Thursday 25 December and Wednesday 1 January, bus services will pause from 12:00 to 15:00, with final operations ending at 21:00.
  • On Wednesday 31 December, special bus services will operate to support the national New Year’s Eve celebrations in Valletta, ensuring safe and convenient travel for revellers.
  • Routes 150, X1A, and 207 will not operate from 26 December 2025 to 4 January 2026.

For the New Year’s Eve celebrations on 31 December 2025, Malta Public Transport will run additional trips on 16 regular routes and five night routes, connecting Valletta with key localities across Malta. These services are designed to allow passengers to reach the Valletta bus terminus comfortably and return home safely after the festivities.

Travel on the special New Year’s Eve services will be free for passengers holding a personalised Tallinja Card. Other passengers may purchase a €3 ticket on board, with both cash and contactless payment options available.

Passengers are reminded that sales offices and customer care services will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. On these days, bus services will be suspended between 12:00 and 15:00 and will also stop operating from 21:00 onwards.

Will you be attending this year’s New Year’s Eve celebrations happening in Valletta?
