Stay safe! Authorities issue ‘orange weather alert’ as very strong winds are expected
Temperatures are expected to remain pretty chilly.
November has already brought on its fair share of whacky weather – but it looks like it’s still got some more in store for us!
The Department of Information took to social media to publish an orange weather alert warning its followers that the West-Southwest wind we are currently experiencing will be ‘strong to very strong’.
Winds are forecast to gradually increase to ‘Gale Force North-westerly’. The weather alert is valid up until 9pm today, after which point the weather should calm down.
These predictions are corroborated by the Malta International Airport’s meteorologists, who are expecting winds to reach Force Eight this evening.
According to this week’s weather forecast, we should expect tomorrow to be just as windy, as the day is set to start off with Force Eight winds, which will subside to Force Five to Six winds later in the day.
Temperatures are also expected to remain pretty chilly this week as, for the most part, highs will remain well under the 20°C mark.
Compared to last week, this week shouldn’t be too rainy, although isolated showers are expected to hit the islands on Friday and Saturday.
It’s starting to feel a lot like winter!
