Health Minister and Deputy PM Chris Fearne has shared details on another measure that will be eased: that pertaining to social and cultural events.

"From 5th July we can start opening again social and cultural events in a safe and cautious manner," he said, also noting that people are allowed to attend if they are fully vaccinated.

The activities are to be taken place in enclosed spaces (which can also be outdoors) so that entrances and exits are controlled appropriately. Seated events will only be allowed from 5th July. To attend the event, a risk assessment form will also need to be filled out.

From 5th July, the one person per four metres squared rule still applies for such events and this will be analysed further at a later date to potentially up the numbers. The cap will be 100 for such events, from 19th July it will go up to 150 if all goes well, and then 200 people in August.

Cultural, social and artistic events can take place with the appropriate protocols in place.

11th June 2021
