So many food spots under one roof! Here's why Bay Street makes the perfect friends date
So much choice!

Nicole Parnis

Whether you’ve got a cinema date pencilled in, you're going bowling with your mains or have planned to hit the tiles in Paceville for the night, Bay Street is smack bang in the middle of Malta’s premier entertainment district, and you’re just a stone’s throw from each of these activities if you're feeling a little peckish!

As well as being a great spot for a blowout shopping spree, with high street labels and big brands all in one place, you can also chow down (or Spritz up) at one of their many restaurants and cafes! Here are just a handful of recommendations, but there are plenty more to be discovered! Here’s GuideMeMalta’s pick of the bunch.

1. Blanco Malta

Stylish and central, Blanco is located right at the entrance of Bay Street, so it’s the perfect place to start off your visit, or grab a drink on your way out. They make a mean Aperol Spritz, so much so that you might forget what you came for and get caught up in all the latest gossip!

2. Caffe Pascucci

Rest your tired feet mid shop-a-thon and kick back with an expertly made cappuccino and an Italian pastry because, well, why not? Cafe Pascucci is the perfect place for a catch up as you go over your purchases and discuss your next plan of action…

3. Hard Rock Café

Bay Street’s Hard Rock Café is as impressive as they come. In fact, it should be listed as a museum as well as a fab place to grab some good ol’ American grub! Expect relics from the Hall of Fame of music history, including one of Carlos Santana’s actual guitars. WOW!

4. Fluid

If you're a meat lover, you just have to head to Fluid! Their combos, steaks and ribs are raved about, and, not to worry - they serve pasta, salads and even ramen - making Fluid a great all-rounder for everyone in your group!

5. Fornelli

Fornelli is a swanky modern restaurant with a trattoria menu. Expect all the Italian favourites with a contemporary twist, all at great prices. It's the perfect place to host a birthday meal as it's fancy enough to get all dressed up for, yet affordable enough to accommodate all!

6. Planet Hollywood

Film buffs rejoice! Bay Street’s newest diner contender is chock-a-block with memorabilia; from Harry Potter wands, Rocky Balboa’s boxing belt to crockery from the Titanic movie! Also, if you’re a Star Wars or Assassin’s Creed fan, you’re going to flip.

BONUS: Marks & Spencer

A trip to Marks & Sparks is always on the cards when you’re visiting. Stock up on luxury pantry items and make believe you’re in London! Besides, who can resist a sweetie packet of Percy Pigs to share?
