Second summer is back! Temperatures across Malta & Gozo to hit 25°C this weekend
Sun's out, jackets off!

If you were hoping for a winter wonderland setup in the lead up to the festive season, you might need to cross some more fingers! Second summer, often referred to locally as ‘is-sajf ta’ San Martin’ when it hits at mid-November, is well and truly here, expected to warm the islands to a balmy 25°C on Sunday.

The sunshine is already making itself known today, and the next few days promise more of the same. Expect a bright, pleasant lead-up to the weekend, with highs of 22°C and light winds keeping things calm and comfortable on Thursday and Friday.

By Saturday, despite some clouds drifting in, temperatures will rise even further, hitting 24°C, with winds increasing slightly to Force 4.

Then comes Sunday, which is shaping up to feel like the middle of summer all over again! Forecasts show a high of 25°C and feeling like 26°C – definitely T-shirt and sunglasses weather.

This warm spell is expected to linger into early next week, although Monday will see more cloud cover, and by Tuesday, strong winds (up to Force 6) and rough seas are likely to make a return, bringing this dose of bright sunshine to an end.

So if you’ve been missing those long, warm afternoons, this weekend is your perfect excuse to head outdoors and soak up the sun, before winter finally decides to show up!

Do you plan to enjoy the weekend sun outdoors?
