The houses were previously earmarked for development which sparked quite some controversy and a lot of opposition which lead the developer to scrap the idea. Lombard Bank has bought the property and has applied to restore it and use it as a bank, putting an end to the controversy over the hotel development.

The proposal (PA/03524/20) states the following: “Change of use from Class 1 residential building to Class 4A Bank Branch including installation of platform and passenger lift and general restoration works.” The proposal doesn’t include development, which is great news for these beautiful townhouses and Rabat residents.
