Two Buoys is built on a genuinely Australian sensibility, its Australian owner devising a menu that reads like a tour of Melbourne suburbs: a Brighton Breakfast Platter, Essendon Eggs, Footscray Fritters and Point Cook Pancakes cover the morning service, while a Williamstown rösti, a Newport waffle topped with pulled pork, kangaroo dishes and sweetcorn and mint fritters carry through to lunch and dinner. An Aussie parma, fish and chips, mussels and a vegan sweet potato burger round out the wider menu. Huskie, an Australian craft lager, anchors the drinks list alongside milkshakes and herbal loose-leaf teas. Staff are attentive and particularly well versed in coeliac and cross-contamination needs. It is a genuinely distinctive fusion concept rather than a straightforward Mediterranean bistro, and dog-friendly besides.
