While most have made the transition to digital when it comes to boarding passes (and pretty much everything else!), anyone still playing it old school with printed boarding passes won’t be able to do so anymore if they’re taking a flight with the airline Ryanair: from today, 12th November 2025, the airline is going fully digital.
That’s right – no more printed boarding passes. Ryanair has officially switched to 100% Digital Boarding Passes (DBP), meaning every passenger must either download their boarding pass as a PDF or use the Ryanair App to access their boarding pass after checking in online.
So, if you’re used to showing up at the airport with a paper pass in hand, it’s time to make the switch!
Here’s how it works:
- Check in online via Ryanair.com or the Ryanair App before arriving at the airport.
- Once you’ve checked in, your digital boarding pass will automatically appear in your app.
- Show your DBP at security and at the boarding gate, no printing required.
Ryanair passengers will still receive email reminders to check in online – 48 and 24 hours before departure – but take note: if you forget to check in online, you’ll still have to pay the airport check-in fee.
So make sure your app is downloaded, your phone is charged, and your boarding pass is ready to go!
Have you made the change to digital yet?
