The ultimate spring bucket list to keep you active

Kristina Cassar Dowling

While the weather has had other plans these last few days, spring weather is (hopefully) just around the corner, and we can't wait to breathe in the fresh air, walk on the green grass and dip our toes in the blue sea. Here are a few great activities to make the most of the sunshine, when it returns!

1. Make daisy chains on your picnic

Picnics are the perfect spring activity to keep all the family happy on a warm Sunday morning. Make your picnics that much prettier with a couple of daisy chains.

2. Visit a farm

Why not give the farm animals some love with a quick trip to the petting farm, an eager visit to a dairy farm or some remote family farm where everything’s fresh and happy.

3. Press flowers

On your next walk through the countryside, pick a few fresh flowers with the most beautiful of colours and find yourself an old book. Put the flowers in said book and voilà… pressed flowers.

4. Make a conserve

Springtime strawberries, fresh Seville oranges… this could only mean one thing. Time to make jam and marmalade! Grab yourself a few jars, sterilise them and store a freshly prepared batch of conserve.

Let’s face it, the sea is still pretty cold but nonetheless enjoyable. Why not take your first dip in the deep blue early this year? Are you brave enough?

As if we need an excuse to get to Gozo for the weekend, right? But why not head to the littler island when it’s at its greenest? Gozo is particularly beautiful this time of year.
