Some of Malta’s top dancers, singers, and musicians headed to Dubai earlier this week to show off the country’s immense talent at the Expo 2020 in Dubai.

Launched on October 1st 2021, this international event seeks to exhibit what its 192 participating countries have to offer. The Dubai Expo was originally scheduled to take place from October 2020 to April 2021, however it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Malta Day at the Expo took place yesterday, kicking off with a speech from Economy and Industry Minister Silvio Schembri, who was also leading the Maltese delegation.

Before the musical programme was kicked off, visitors could visit the Malta Pavilion to learn more about the country’s history, culture, business environment, and tourism industry.

Soon enough, a group of Maltese dancers took the stage at the Al Wasl Plaza, accompanied by some vocal talent, to take audience members on a brief journey of Malta’s influences, and traditions.

Singers included BROOKE, X Factor Malta winner Destiny Chukunyere, Glen Vella, Janvil, Amber, and Pamela Bezzina.

That same evening, these singers took the stage once again, this time accompanied by the Versatile Brass band, to perform a selection of international songs appertaining to a variety of genres as well as a couple of Maltese songs.

It seems like this was a memorable experience for audience members and performers alike, as BROOKE took to social media to commemorate the day.

“Performing at the expo 2020 in Dubai – what an honour! Thank you to all the organisers and the Maltese delegation for their continuous efforts, patience, and hard work. Incredibly proud is an understatement,” she wrote.
