Tributes from all who knew nine-year-old Miguel Damato and his family have been pouring in since Puttinu Cares announced his sad passing earlier today.

In a social media post by the organisation that supports sick children, Miguel is described as an “exceptional boy…educated, handsome, smart and determined.”

Adding that he had left an impact on those who knew him, the post drew a flood of reactions from friends, family and acquaintances.

His school, Birkirkara Primary, also penned a heartfelt post to Miguel, extending condolences to his parents Chantelle and Stephen, and all his family. “Miguel was loved and cared for as if he was our very own, and we will miss him dearly,” they wrote.

Birkirkara FC Youth Academy also paid tribute to the young football fan, who had formed part of the academy for some years. “We will always remember Miguel with that smile on his little face and the immense love to football,” they say.

On behalf of all of us here at GuideMeMalta, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Miguel’s family.
