By the sea

It is a known fact that being by the sea has a calming, therapeutic effect on us, whilst swimming in it also has many health benefits. Luckily, Malta is an island, and, because of our size, the sea is always a 15-minute drive away (though this depends on traffic). There is a long list of spots to choose from too! Qawra, Sliema, Ghajn Tuffieha, Ghar Lapsi, Bahar ic-Caghaq and Marsaskala all make for calming seaside locations, to name but a few spots where you can chill and meditate.

Buskett Gardens

The only woodlands in Malta, Buskett is an ideal place to spend some time appreciating Malta's natural environment. The 45 hectares of land is removed from residential areas, and you will find yourself spotting a variety of tree species, endemic to the island, as well as an array of natural sounds.

A nature walk

And, if you want to indulge further in Malta's natural beauty, search out those corners where green dominates and your stress levels plummet. Time spent in the great outdoors can be beneficial, whatever you decide to do, whether it's simply a short stroll, a day’s hike, or even a camping trip. You might even want to consider Comino, where the sea and land meet in a unique bond guaranteed to take you away from all the stress of 21st century life.

A rural village

Many villages around the islands have retained their quaint and quiet nature, with the heart of towns stepping back from hectic modernity. Places such as Senglea, Qrendi, Gharb, Sannat, and Rabat, for example, are all perfect for a stroll around, giving you a fresh perspective on the spots which run on a slower pace to the rest of the islands.
