Monday 25th January: 2 people pass away while Malta registers 203 new cases

The Health Authority’s Facebook page, Sahha, has published today's figures. Malta has registered 203 new cases of COVID-19 after 3,345 swabs were done in the past 24 hours.

The islands have registered 175 more recoveries, bringing the total recovery tally to 13,976 and the number of active cases to 2,632. Since the outbreak, Malta has recorded 16,861 cases and has performed 592,890 swab tests. The islands also registered another two deaths in recent days: a 76-year-old female who passed away at St Vincent de Paule Residence and a 79-year-old male who passed away on 23rd January at his own residence. Malta's total has now reached 253 deaths.

The post also noted that until yesterday, 24th January, 19,981 vaccine doses have been administered to various people on the islands.
