Elegance on the smallest possible scale!

Rebecca Micallef, celebrated for her intricate miniature dolls’ houses, has launched her new book, ‘Designing and Decorating a Period Dolls' House’, in the Netherlands. This guide is inspired by her long-standing passion for creating period dolls' houses, each with stunningly detailed miniature interiors.

Over the past 26 years, she has built a collection titled ‘My Miniature World’ – Malta's first of its kind – featuring a variety of dolls’ houses that represent different historical periods, including a Victorian street of shops she calls ‘Regent Street’.

Her book is perfect for beginners eager to explore the world of miniature building. It offers a step-by-step guide to constructing and decorating a Victorian Period Dolls' House in 1:12 scale using room boxes. From decorating the interior and exterior to furnishing each room, the guide walks readers through the entire process, encouraging personal touches that make each house unique. Rebecca Micallef shares that this level of customisation can bring a sense of individuality to the rooms of the dolls’ houses that she truly enjoys, and that cannot be achieved by buying a ready-made dolls’ house.

‘My Miniature World’ is open to the public by appointment, offering an exclusive peek into her impressive collection of works – contact Rebecca Micallef via her website for more information.

Have you ever seen a miniature dolls' house?
