Malta sports community mourns the loss of ex-Luxol St Andrews president, Paul Falzon
Rest in peace.
The football community has lost a great man. News spread today that Paul Falzon passed away, aged 73, and various sports pages are mourning his loss.
“Words may not suffice to express the heartfelt sorrow that all at Luxol Futsal feel for the passing of Mr Paul Falzon, Founder and Honorary President of Luxol Sports Club,” Luxol St Andrews Futsal Club noted on Facebook. “We wish to send our condolences to Jason Falzon and family.”
Paul also played water polo and was a goalkeeper back in the '70s for the Valletta United Water Polo Club. “Just received the news that Pawlu Falzon ex Valletta United WPC goalkeeper in the glorious 70's era passed away. Rest in Peace Pawl. The Club and Committee would like to send the deepest condolences to the Falzon family.”
The Malta Football Association is also mourning his death, sharing a notice of his passing. “We are deeply saddened to learn that long-serving football administrator and friend Paul Falzon has passed away. Our thoughts are with Paul's family and friends. Rest in peace Paul.”
