Malta set to receive over 7 million international passengers in 2019
The Malta International Airport is forecasting one busy year!

Malta is on the road to having a great year in the tourism department. 2019 is projected to be another record year for the Malta International Airport (MIA) with various locals and tourists coming and going every month. MIA officials are estimating that Malta will welcome more than 7 million passengers in 2019!

And this is honestly no surprise. The island is currently operating more routes than the London Heathrow airport, and plus, our islands are so darn gorgeous it’s no wonder we’re soaring in tourism!

Last summer, MIA launched the ‘100-destination summer schedule’ which was a huge success and will definitely continue throughout 2019. New routes included Dubrovnik, Corfu, Bratislava, Casablanca, and Bilbao.

2018 was a record year for Malta, which received a whopping 6,808,177 passengers from around the world. The most popular countries of departure were the UK, Italy, Germany, France and Spain.
