Malta confirms 233 new cases for today, Wednesday 3rd March

The Health Authority’s Facebook page, Sahha, has published today's figures. Malta has registered a record 233 new cases of COVID-19 after 3,654 swabs were done in the past 24 hours. 

The islands have registered 162 more recoveries, bringing the total recovery tally to 19,905 and the number of active cases to 3,000. Since the outbreak, Malta has recorded 23,226 cases and has performed 709,336 swab tests. Over the past 24 hours, another two people passed away: an 84-year-old male died at Mater Dei while an 86-year-old female passed away at Gozo General Hospital. This means Malta's total number of deaths now stands at 321.

The post also noted that until yesterday, 2nd March, 84,129 vaccine doses have been administered to various people on the islands. 29,748 of these were second doses.
