Żabbar may be known for its epic festa and rainbow brollies, but this year it’s about to get even saucier!

The town will be hosting an għaġinata, or pasta night, organised by Societa' Filarmonica Maria Mater Gratiæ, in collaboration with the Żabbar Local Council. But this is no ordinary dinner...the aim is to get as many people as possible eating pasta consecutively in one area to set a national record!
“We all know the Maltese love eating,” says Julian Scicluna, a Żabbar local councillor and committee member. “There will be a choice of four different types of pasta, a buffet, and we will be making use of biodegradable and compostable cutlery and utensils” he continues. Sounds good to us!
The event, which will be held on 8th June, costs €14 to participate, and €7 for children under 12; it’s open to the public from all around the islands. The record breaker will be held in central Żabbar, at the corner with the umbrella installation street no less, so you can get your token insta snaps whilst you witness history being made – we’ll see you there!
