MA students on cancelled Malta trip asked to write essay instead
A request for a refund was reportedly rejected by the University.

Students at Nottingham Trent University are protesting after their five-day study-trip to Malta was cancelled due to travel restrictions brought on by the Coronavirus.

First reported by British newspaper The Times, their itenerary included visits to a number of Valletta's Baroque buildings, dinner at a waterfront restaurant as well as accommodation at a 5-star hotel in St Paul's Bay.

The students asked for a refund however the university come up with a different form of compensation: a 2,500 word essay on "methods of undertaking maintenance, repairs and restoration works on heritage assets."

The students are less than pleased by the latest turn of events.
