Local service station strikes again with creative Christmas decorations made of TYRES!
It started with the tree…

Sarah Micallef

During last year’s Christmas season, Falzon Service Station in Birkirkara caught our eye for what we thought was one of the most creative Christmas trees we’d ever seen. And this year, not only are they back, but they’ve gone and upped the ante!

Their tyre-iffic Christmas tree made up of a tower of tyres topped with a traffic cone is back, and it’s looking better than ever, as it seems to have sprouted some branches since last year!

But the creative chaps at Falzon didn’t stop there, going on to add several other festive decorations using tyres this time around. Just take a look at this cool take on festive season baubles – we’ve bet you’ve never seen anything like it!

And how about these tyre-based Christmas wreaths, with garlands joining them? The creativity is inspiring.

A chat with Andrew Falzon reveals that this will be the service station’s 65th year in operation, and the decorations were a team effort to celebrate the festive season in a unique way, while also promoting the use of recycled materials – these guys are definitely on to something!

He also shows me an intricate crib set-up with the ever-present Baby Jesus, which he says has been traditionally set up every year since his grandfather opened the business.

Happy 65th anniversary guys – keep sleighing!
