Jammed up! Gzira to Sliema Ferries clogged up as shoppers flock for Black Friday sales
There’s quite the traffic jam heading towards Sliema…

It’s Black Friday and we all love a good discount. In a ‘normal’ year, we’d hit the shops on Black Friday to make the most of the latest offers. However, what’s going on in Gzira has us wondering whether people have forgotten we’re in the middle of a pandemic.

Gerald Fenech Covid19 news updates posted a photo to the Facebook page showing quite a tailback in the Gzira/Sliema Ferries area, in the direction of Sliema (ie, the shops). Could this be caused by shoppers flocking to make the most of this year’s Black Friday sales?

Whatever the situation, Facebook users hit the comments section in true Maltese fashion to give their two cents on the matter. “Seems that a couple of euros saved is more worth [it] than saving a [life],” one person said. “I didn’t leaver our house on principle. This is unethical in today’s situation,” said another.

One person dished some #realtalk, saying, “do these people not own a computer? Can’t they get their oh-so-vital discounts online?”

What do you make of all this?
