Earlier today, Transport Minister Ian Borg revealed that 42 local councils had signed up for an initiative that will see their open spaces returned to them for residents' full enjoyment.

"It's an important day because we're giving the people their localities' main squares back for them to enjoy. Together with my friend [Culture Minister] José Herrera and with the support of Transport Malta and the Local Councils' Association Malta, an agreement has been signed through which we'll continue to beautify our public spaces, have secure infrastructure for sustainable transport methods and a higher quality of life," Transport Minister Ian Borg wrote in a Facebook post.

"This means that during certain hours of the day, a number of spaces in Maltese villages will be inaccessible to vehicles. Thank you to the 42 local councils that came forward to participate in this initiative and I encourage others to the same for their residents."

When she’s not having a quarter-life crisis, Caroline is either drawing in a café, frittering her salary on sushi or swearing at traffic in full-on Gozitan. There is also the occasional daytime drink somewhere in the equation. Or two. A creative must be allowed at least one vice.
