Following a soft launch last weekend, the latest addition to Valletta’s growing gastronomic scene, the impossibly stylish N Japanese Bistro, will throw open its doors to the public this Friday.

Located at the corner of St Christopher Street and the legendary Strait Street, the elegant eatery forms part of high end gastro-retail project The Gut, and has been in the works for some time.

The wait for the highly anticipated restaurant however, is finally over, and it’s just a few days until we can all sample the Japanese delicacies within (and sit on those gorgeous chairs!)

Featuring a wonderful, pared down aesthetic, the Washoku restaurant follows the Japanese tradition of Izakaya, and is the brain child of two talented Japanese chefs, Toru Imamura and Miyuki Sakamoto, best known as the talented Sushi Chef behind the popular Gochi Sushi Bar in St Julian’s.

For all those who have been missing out on Miyuki’s amazing sushi since Gochi shut up shop, this is music to our ears, and with over 20 years’ experience in some of the best restaurants in Tokyo, head chef Toru is bound to take things to the next level.

Together, they will be introducing traditional Japanese dishes as well as an element of subtle fusion twist at this trendy new eatery, and we can’t wait to see (and taste) what they have in store!
