Heads up! Virtu Ferries cancels trips due to 'unfavourable sea conditions'
You might have to postpone that Sicily trip.

Kim Vella

We’ve got bad news for you if you were planning on heading to Sicily tomorrow morning...

Catamaran operator Virtu Ferries took to social media to announce that the voyages it had scheduled for tomorrow morning have been cancelled – and it’s all because of the weather.

After last week’s relentless thunderstorms, Malta has been witnessing some very strong winds. The Malta International Airport’s weather forecast warned that this morning’s southwest winds are set to become north-westerly gale-force winds later in the day.

Believe us, you wouldn’t want to get caught on a ferry in that type of weather...

Having said that, Virtu Ferries will still be going ahead with some of its voyages scheduled for tomorrow evening  particularly its 6:30pm journey departing from Malta and its 9:30pm journey departing from Pozzallo.

Extra voyages will also be performed this coming Wednesday 1st December.
