The man who fell off the Hal Far factory roof has been identified as Raffaele Conte - Italian 40-year-old father of three.

Corriere di Malta, a Maltese website written in the Italian language reported that Conte hailed from Mondragone in Caserta. He was a seasonal worker who moved to Malta for the job just a few weeks ago. He reportedly leaves behind a wife and three children.

According to TVM, Conte was employed by an Italian construction company and was planning to return home next month. Witnesses have reported that the 40-year-old was on top of the roof with his colleagues when he lost his balance and fell four storeys. Help was called by he was unfortunately declared dead once medics arrived.

Our condolences to the Conte family.
