While the full details will be announced in the coming days, Minister Farrugia Portelli explained this forms part of a greater initiative to re-inject life into the capital city.

Further details were later issued earlier by the Valletta Cultural Agency where they announced that although attendance will be restricted, it is free of charge: "There's a limited number of seats available in order to keep in line with directives issued by health authorities." While no indication was given as to the number of people allowed per screening, it is believed a maximum of 75 people would be allowed in however it is not clear whether this figure includes staff members as well as cinema-goers.

The Valletta Cultural Agency has also published a schedule to cover the period between Thursday 25th and Sunday 28th June, with films including World War Z and 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, both partially filmed in Malta.

The venue for this open-air cinema is in Laparelli Garden within Valletta.

When she’s not having a quarter-life crisis, Caroline is either drawing in a café, frittering her salary on sushi or swearing at traffic in full-on Gozitan. There is also the occasional daytime drink somewhere in the equation. Or two. A creative must be allowed at least one vice.
