Friday 22nd October: 86-year-old male dies while COVID-19 positive, 10 new cases registered

The Health Authority’s Facebook page, Sahha, has published today's figures. Malta has registered 10 new cases in the past 24 hours.

The islands have registered 23 recoveries, meaning that the country’s total number of active cases now stands at 251 

The post also noted that until yesterday, 21st October, Malta had administered 863,183 vaccine doses. 41,425 of these were booster doses.

Sadly, an 86-year-old male died while COVID-19 positive during the last 24 hours. This means that the country’s virus death toll now stands at 460 

A total of 14 patients are being treated at Mater Dei, four of whom are in ITU.
