Friday 17th September: Active cases keep declining as 84-year-old passes away from COVID-19

The Health Authority’s Facebook page, Sahha, has published today's figures. Malta has registered 27 new cases in the past 24 hours.

The islands have registered 79 recoveries, meaning that the country’s total number of active cases now stands at 643.

The post also noted that until yesterday, 16th September, Malta had administered 810,125 vaccine doses. 4,477 of these were booster doses.

An 84-year-old man passed away whilst COVID-19 positive. This brings the country’s virus death toll up to 453.

A total of 25 patients are being treated at Mater Dei, with four currently in ITU.
