Ian Lang, a radio presenter at 89.7 Bay and beloved local DJ has tragically passed away.

The news was announced by his wife, Kathy Lang, on social media earlier today.

“It is with a broken heart and great sadness that I write this post. You are now at peace, my love, fly high Ian! Your void is already immensely felt and we will miss you forever,” she wrote.

“The love, laughter, and fun we shared is priceless and a gift you gave to me and our kids Emily, Hannah, and Mia. You will live on in our hearts for eternity,” Kathy continued.

She noted that funeral details will be announced later today.

News of Ian’s passing triggered an outpouring of tributes on social media from friends and former colleagues.

“Inseparable for the best part of 20 years. Literally day and night. Moments of sheer joy, lots of laughter, and a deep friendship which I will treasure forever,” Andrew Zammit, former General Manager at 89.7 Bay wrote.

“I’ll miss you, old friend. Now go rock the great gig in the sky,” he continued.
