Ferry memories! Photo from the late 90s shows the Gozo Channel in all its timeless glory
Familiar sights from over three decades ago!

A recently resurfaced photo from the late 1990s has sparked a wave of nostalgia – a reminder of how, in a constantly changing world, the trusty ferry braving all weather conditions to carry passengers between Malta and Gozo has remained the same in the past three decades.

Although locals may have become somewhat accustomed to its charm, the ferry and its passage have offered countless moments of captivation to those visiting the islands for the first time, particularly when it pulls into the harbour at Mgarr, as can be seen in this old photo.

The cars in the photo show just how much time has passed since it was snapped, with the white old-style sedan taxis in the foreground of the picture giving it that 90s feel!

What’s your earliest memory on the Gozo ferry?
