"Face mask use is OBLIGATORY" - Gozo Channel reminds passengers, after many forego COVID-19 protocols
Very few passengers were seen wearing a face mask during trips in the past weeks.

Gozo Channel has issued a scathing statement reminding passengers of COVID-19 protocols during ferry trips after many forewent health procedures.

"Gozo Channel Operations Limited wish to remind all passengers that face mask use is OBLIGATORY at our terminals and on our ferries," the post stressed.

Indeed, the majority of passengers could be seen boarding without their face masks in the last fortnight. While there were several who followed COVID-19 protocols diligently, many chose to remove their face mask as soon as the crew's backs were turned. The situation worsened over the past weekend, when only a handful of passengers could be seen sporting their face mask.

In a recent chain post shared to Facebook by the Public Health Superintendent, Prof. Charmaine Gauci highlighted that: "When I wear a mask in public and in the stores, I want you to know that I'm educated enough to know that I could be asymptomatic and still give you the virus."

Emphasizing this further, Prof. Gauci also stressed: "When you think about your appearance, discomfort, or other people's opinion of you, imagine a loved one - a child, father, mother, grandparent, aunt, uncle or even a stranger - placed on a ventilator, alone without you or any family member who is allowed at his bedside."

It's only for 25 minutes folks!
