1. Cooking class

We all love to eat, but maybe not all of us really like to roll-up our sleeves and cook. Cooking classes are ideal because they are informative as much as they are fun (and tasty!) - and it is also indirectly buying a present for yourself. Djar il-Bniet and the Mediterranean Culinary Academy offer a wide variety of cooking classes and workshops on a frequent basis.

2. Scuba diving session

Some of Malta’s most beautiful jewels lie under the sea. Malta is world-renowned for incredible diving spots and tourists from all across the globe come to visit the islands to get a taste of underwater Mediterranean beauty. Gozo, in particular, is a pristine hotspot for introductory diving sessions in the crystal clear waters of Xlendi bay or Mgarr ix-Xini and many others. There are several diving schools around both islands that will be happy to help!

3. Pottery making class

There is something extremely satisfying about watching a piece of pottery taking shape and the soothing, tangible exercise that comes with it. You will get your hands dirty, but your mind will travel to the circular motion of that vase that will emerge in front of your eyes. Enjoy the session and then take the skills, as much as the actual pottery you created, back home with you. Bristow Potteries are among the local companies that offer adult and children’s workshops at their centre in Ta’ Qali Crafts Village.

4. Fly a plane

If you want to send someone for some true adrenaline fun, a short plane ride can do the trick… where they are the ones flying the plane! Who wouldn’t like to try out one of the most exciting skills in the world? And let’s not forget the views of the islands you can get from high above. Buzz Flying offer introductory lessons of about an hour and cover the northern part of the island.

5. Archery

Handing your loved one an archery session might really hit the spot (literally)! It’s a fun sport that is not that difficult to get the hang of. The first few minutes are all about learning, but further on during the session, you will, possibly, (but not definitely), be rewarded with a bulls-eye. Archery offers simple and instinctive fun.
