Beware swimmers! Most Maltese beaches marked UNSAFE today
The situation is expected to get better in the coming days…

Local weather page ‘Maltese Islands Weather’ has taken to social media to warn bathers that the majority of the country’s beaches are unsafe for swimming today – and it’s all because of jellyfish.

The swimming spots marked in red are considered hazardous.

“Several reports of jellyfish at most entry points across the Maltese Islands in the past few days,” Maltese Islands Weather wrote.

“Sea surface temperature will reach an important threshold in the coming days, reducing the density of stinging jellyfish blooms,” it continued.

In spite of this, there still are a couple of beaches that are safe to swim at.

These include Marsascala, St Thomas’ Bay, Ghar Lapsi, Zurrieq, Hondoq, and Dahlet Qorrot.

Have you started swimming yet?
