'Betlehem f’Santa Venera' returns this December, bringing festive tradition to life
The revamped event brings nativity scenes, food stalls, kids’ activities, and the beautiful Casa Leoni to life for a festive Christmas weekend.
Following last year’s wonderful turnout, the Santa Venera Local Council is excited to announce the sixth edition of Betlehem f’Santa Venera, taking place between 19th and 21st December 2025.
Last year’s event opened the gates of the charming Romeo Romano garden and the adjacent Casa Leoni This year, guests can look forward to even more with a refreshed format designed to bring festive magic to life.
Visitors can explore a live nativity scene showcasing traditional rural life, browse a selection of stalls with artisanal goods, enjoy a plethora of food and drink vendors, visit a petting zoo, and let children play in dedicated kids’ areas. It’s festive cheer from start to finish.
Speaking about this year’s edition, Santa Venera Mayor Gianluca Falzon said that the event not only highlighting all that Santa Venera has to offer but also continues to bring the community together while doing it.
Once the summer residence of Grand Master António Manoel de Vilhena, Casa Leoni was built in 1730 and is steeped in history. It has had many roles over the years but today it is home to the Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure, and Capital Projects.
For this special occasion, it will join the gardens in transforming into a magical winter wonderland, making Betlehem f’Santa Venera a festive experience not to be missed.
